pardon me, but i'm never a fan of these countdown events. i thought it's merely a numbers thing. 2008, 2009, 2010, is there anything significant about it? i celebrate the dawn of each new day! 1, 2, 3... each day, isn't it as significant and unique as each year? do people look forward to a new year because they are a year older? then we have birthdays to celebrate once a year. or do people want to move on from a "bad" year and hope that the next one will be a "better" year? then i say, we wake up from our sleep to start the day anew, with renewed vigour and enthusiasm!
but anyways, as on Christmas day, on which i cooked a 3-course dinner for my family, tonight i cooked dinner for my family again with the help of my brothers.
on Christmas, i cooked the following:
starters
Classic Potato Pancake
main course
Roasted Cod with Parsley-Lemon Crumbs
dessert
Individual Apple Charlottes with Ice-Cream

on New Year's Day, our combined menu was:

and i realised i do enjoy cooking. of course, the moment when everyone starts to eat is always tense, looking at their facial expressions, observing the movement of their jaw muscles as they bite into the food. so far, the recipes i took from the internet haven't disappoint me yet, so that's good.
so here i am, looking forward to cooking better dishes next time!
