of women and men

today i learned a couple of things over dinner:

1. women need compliments, even if they know it's not true;

2. women feel insecure when men are surrounded by girls all the time;

3. platonic friendships do exist;

4. but equally, friends fall for one another easily too;

5. loving a person is not so much changing for someone but being accepted the way you are;

6. men are often hypocritical, contradicting creatures;

7. relationships haven't become more complicated, it is people making relationships complicated;

8. as easy as it seems, no one ever goes into a new relationship without baggage from one's past;

9. most people's idea of love is, to a certain extent, influenced by what they see in movies/books;

10. strong, powerful, love-at-first-sight kind of love does exists (from a book i just read).
